Loch Ness Musings

Thursday, 16 April 2009

Another run yesterday afternoon with friends Alex and Ed. Alex has great knowledge of the area and this time took us on a great run down to the shores of Loch Ness in a very wild area a few miles from Evergreen where there are no roads or tracks. Hidden in the undergrowth a short distance from where we were is the fabled Fraser Yew. This tree is reputedly over 700 years old and where once the Frasers of Stratherrick would gather and over 100 clansman hide beneath its huge umbrella of foliage.
