Merry Christmas!!
I know, it's been a while since my last blog, but we have been away for a break to Florida & New York. Florida was nice and warm but New York very cold which was perhaps not a bad thing, preparing us for the bitter cold that greeted us on our return to Glasgow. That said, although it is very cold, all our roads are clear, everyone can get around and the the scenery looks fantastic under a deep covering of snow. I have great sympathy for those stuck at airports further south (we got stuck last year at Gatwick!)or unable to get about because of the snow, but here in the Highlands, well used to greater quantities of snow, it really is not such a big issue. Yesterday the temperature up the Pass of Inverfarigaig dropped to minus 20C ( and that was during the day!) but out of the shade the sun was shining and it really was pleasant to go out for a short walk. And of course everything does look so much better for Christmas when there is snow.We have our big outdoor Christmas tree up again as usual here at Evergreen and it really does look wonderful in the evening. When we were putting it up our cat Coco tried to get in to the Christmas spirit and assist us by climbing the tree (perhaps she thought she could attach the lights to the top of it?)All highly amusing up to a point!
Anyway, for all our guests from this past year and for those that are visiting in 2011, we wish you a very Merry Christmas
