Changes

Well what can I say, but welcome to my first blog from Hazelgrove Cottage! In mid October you may be aware that we closed the doors on Evergreen as a B&B for the final time after 10 wonderful years but rather than stop our blog completely we have decided to continue posting it from Hazelgrove. It took a while to get changed over, hence the lack of posts recently. However, hopefully I can now get back in the habit of posting regularly.
So, what better subject to start with than the subject we all love talking about, the weather. Well, its been not bad recently with some very mild and dry weather but there is not mistaking it is late autumn now. The daylight hours are much shorter and the trees are rapidly shedding their leaves. Also our red squirrels are frantically stocking up for winter with nuts from our bird feeders. Every morning now when we look out the kitchen window we see at least two of our furry friends busy, so busy infact that they are oblivious to Coco the cat, provided that is she does not get too close!
Then there are the roe and sika deer which after months of abscence have started to reappear in the woods at the side of the house, more signs that winter is ,despite the mild weather, not far off..
